Getting Your Licence |
|
How
to apply for your provisional licence |
|
If
you have never held a driving licence before, you must apply for a provisional
licence. You need to obtain a form D1. This form is available from most post
offices or via the DVLA website. You will need to enclose original
documentation confirming your identity and a passport sized colour photograph
taken against a plain light background, it may take up to three weeks to get
your provisional licence returned. |
|
Changing
your licence when you pass your test |
|
Once
you have passed your theory and practical tests, exchange your test pass
certificate for a new licence as soon as possible. If you do not do this within
2 years of passing your test, you will have to retake and pass both theory and
practical tests.
You can download forms from the DVLA web site at
www.dvla.gov.uk
